August MedMob this Sunday

Flash Mob Meditation in 130+ Cities Around the World
From Thursday, August 25 to Sunday, August 28, thousands of people in more than 130 cities will meditate at government buildings and universities around the world, including Melbourne, London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Rome, and Kenya.
This movement, known as MedMob, began this year on January 30th when 60 people launched a meditation flash mob in Austin at the Texas State Capitol.  In February, the Austin MedMob grew to 250 people with seven other cities hosting their own MedMobs.  In eight months, MedMob has expanded rapidly to become a worldwide movement with public meditations planned in more than 130 cities.

“Our initial intention was to expose Austin to the power of meditation and invite people from all walks of life to join,” commented Patrick Kronfli, co-founder of MedMob.  “It’s inspiring to see leaders around the world rise up to create the same experience and it’s exciting to be part of a global movement committed to internal peace.”

On Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 pm, at Federation Square's Amphitheatre, a large group of sitting meditators will exude an inner peace, strength, and happiness intended to brighten the day of every observer.  The meditation is scheduled for an hour and will conclude with an 11 minute "sound bath" of sacred sounds. Hundreds of Melbourne residents and visitors walking by to their next Sunday’s activity will be exposed to a tidal wave of silence and bliss they may have never experienced before.

Everyone is invited to join and participate - all experience levels. spiritual paths, and perspectives.

Research has shown that meditation has a positive effect on our health and that meditating in big groups creates an electro-magnetic wave that impacts the world around us.
MedMob is consistent with increasing developments around the world where people are realizing the benefits of seeking internal peace, balance, and fulfillment.

Please note: we have sunshine this weekend so we are now MedMobbing in the Amphitheatre
at Fed Square in the open air. The video states we will be in the Atrium.

MedMob: Melbourne 31 July 2011

Flash-Mob Meditation at Federation Square coordinated with 83+ cities across the world!!! www.medmob.org

Google Maps: http://bit.ly/nI4QBU

This month we have one of the greatest venues in Melbourne - The Atrium at Federation Square. It will be warm inside, and away from the winter elements. Let's make July's Medmob totally awesome by inviting everyone we know to come and join us.

Looking forward to having another amazing MedMob, Melbourne style!!

ARRIVAL: We'll start arriving around 1:30pm to connect with others before the meditation begins. At 2pm we will spread throughout the sitting area outside, being conscious to keep public pathways open. Bring a mat or cushion to sit on.

Then the 1 hour seated silent meditation begins! You can come for all of it, part of it, or kick back and bask in the peace.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, JUST COME AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!

BIKE, take a tram, bus or train, or Carpool to the event!

You can participate in all or part of the following.

MEDITATION: 2 to 3pm we will be sitting in silent meditation. Make sure not to block any public pathways, otherwise, sit anywhere you like... spread out all over the place and lets create a profound experience. Show up early and connect or you can show up anytime between 2 and 3pm and start sitting.

FAMILIES and NON-MEDITATORS: If you have children, please come and sit or play nearby, while holding a deep intention with us. Your beautiful, loving energy will deepen the experience for everyone!

SOUND BATH: At 3pm we will begin the sound bath. We will all gather at one spot in the centre of the Atrium to do an 11 minute sound bath. We will ommmm and expand it into the world. When you hear the sound bath begin just start to congregate in the center. After the sound bath, the MedMob is officially over and the rest of our Sunday begins!

LOCATION: You can enter The Atrium directly via the Flinders St
entrance.

MedMob's Goal:

1. To expose the World to meditation through public display of meditation.

2. To create an environment for people from all walks of life to come together in meditation.

3. To come together as a Global Community to send positive intentions out into the world.

Visit www.MedMob.org for more details on setting up an event in your city.

We're riding the wave at the forefront of Evolution!
